    2024 Commencement Ceremony

    It’s almost that exciting time of year to celebrate your hard work at commencement! 

    Clackamas Community College will be hosting a Commencement Ceremony for our graduates on Friday, June 14, 2024

    Location: The Holden Industrial Technology Center on the Oregon City campus (19600 Molalla Ave., Oregon City, OR 97045).

2024 ceremony details

At the event, graduates will have the opportunity to:

  • Have their name announced.
  • Receive their CCC diploma cover.
  • Walk across the stage.
  • Have a professional graduation photo taken.
  • Be congratulated by President Cook.
  • Be celebrated by CCC Board members, faculty and staff.

Who is the ceremony for?

  • Summer 2023, Fall 2023, Winter 2024 college degree/certificate, Adult High School Diploma and GED recipients.
  • Spring 2024 and Summer 2024 college degree/certificate, Adult High School Diploma applicants for graduation and GED recipients.

Timing: The ceremony begins promptly at 4 p.m.; plan for the ceremony to last at least 2.5 hours.

  • Students need to arrive by 3 p.m.; no later than 3:45 p.m.
  • Guest seating will begin at 3 p.m.
  • Please allow extra time for traffic and parking.

Weather: This will be an outdoor event and will happen rain or shine. Please dress for the weather.

  • The seating area for graduates and the main stage will be tented;
  • Guest seats will be  exposed to the weather.
  • Dress according the weather.
  • Guests/graduates will be walking on uneven surfaces and grass; high heels are not recommended.

    Parking: Parking is free on campus and graduates and guests can park in any parking lot.  The lot closest to the Graduation Field is the Blue lot.      

    Registration: Registration to walk in the ceremony is required!

    • After May 28, 2024, you must email gradceremony@clackamas.edu to get the instructions for registration.  Registration will take place under a platform called Marching Order.
    • ADA accommodation information will be collected for graduates and guests at the time of registration.
    • Cap and gown information will be collected.
    • Graduates will request the number of guest tickets needed.

    Ticketing: Guest tickets are required.

    • Tickets for Guests: Graduates will either print or send their guests an electronic ticket from the "Marching Order" registration system. Only original tickets will be accepted. Screen shots of tickets will not be accepted.  Please contact your graduate for your ticket. 
    • Graduates are allowed a maximum of five tickets for guests.  
    • Tickets will need to be shown at the gate to enter the guest seating area.
    • Guests under the age of one do not need a ticket
    • Graduates do not need a ticket

    Cap and gowns: Cap and gowns are free for graduates attending the ceremony.

    • Cap and gowns are expected to be worn by graduates at the ceremony.
    • Graduates will pick up their cap and gown at the time they chose when they registered to the walk in the ceremony.

    Cords:

    • Honors
      • Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through winter 2024 or the last completed term will be notated in the ceremony program and given a gold cord to wear at the ceremony.
      • Students can check their cumulative GPA through Self-Service under Unofficial Transcript.
    • Phi Theta Kappa Students
    • Students with Disabilities 
      • Pick up your free, optional tri-colored cord when you are picking up your cap and gown the week of June 3. You can wear this cord at the ceremony to represent your journey to this moment .  
    • Veterans
      • Cords can be picked up when you are picking up your cap and gown the week of June 3.

    Diplomas and certificates

    • Diplomas and certificates are NOT handed out at the ceremony.
    • Graduates will receive one diploma/certificate cover at the ceremony.
    • Any additional diploma/certificate covers can be requested at gradservices@clackamas.edu.

    Ceremony Rehearsal (optional for students)

    • A ceremony rehearsal will be optional for students to attend on June 13, 3 p.m. at the Holden Industrial Technology Center.
