    The Small Business Development Center offers a great team of business advisors who have real world experience owning or operating businesses. Our advisors are experienced in a variety of business topics from sales to accounting and understand the nature of starting and doing business in Oregon.

  • Brett Lichtenthaler
     Brett began his business and sales career over twenty years ago and has held sales and sales leadership positions with Fortune 100 companies as well as start-ups. After spending 16 years with a Fortune 100 company, Brett decided to take his experience in sales, as well as sales leadership, coaching, training and development of sales strategies to launch the Brett Lichtenthaler Consulting Group (BLCG). BLCG provides service to sales driven organizations interested in improving results and sales.
    Catherine Weesner
     

    Catherine has been licensed tax preparer and licensed tax consultant for over 25 years. In June of 1998, Catherine formed Clackamas Accounting and Taxes (CAT) in North Clackamas County. In addition to preparing income taxes for both individuals and small businesses, she also provides bookkeeping, QuickBooks training and payroll services for many small businesses. Catherine’s practice has gone nationwide with clients from the West coast to the East coast.

    Since 2003, Catherine has been a small business counselor for the Small Business Development Center at Clackamas Community College. In addition to doing small business counseling, Catherine is the lead QuickBooks Instructor at the Small Business Development Center at Clackamas Community College and for the Business Department at Mt Hood Community College. She also teaches QuickBooks at Gladstone Community School. In addition, she taught both tax preparer and tax consultant courses for H.R. Block. She has also been a presenter for many special tax-related topics for local associations and is in constant demand.

    She was approached by Intuit in 2005 to be an official beta tester for the new versions of QuickBooks.

    Janet Powell
    Janet has over 30 years experience in the banking industry. She has been an instructor and business counselor at the Clackamas SBDC since 1989, focusing on financial resources and the loan application process. Janet is generally available for counseling on Saturdays.
    Jeff Selby
     Jeff’s career has taken him from the U.S. Army, to the Walt Disney Company, to the luxury automotive business, to governmental communications. As a marketing veteran and owner of his own creative firm, Jeff applies his media and client relations consulting experience to assist business owners with improving their image and culture. Jeff has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He is generally available for counseling on Tuesday evenings.
    Karen Carroll
     Prior to joining the SBDC staff in 1987, Karen was the principal of the KEC Group, financial consultant to small business and worked in Washington, D.C. for the federal government. Karen is a former Small Business Management program instructor and continues to counsel clients at our center, specializing in the areas of financial management and loan packaging. Karen is generally available for counseling on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
    Kathleen Lansing
     Kathleen is a Small Business Management Program graduate and long-time business owner (Lansing Linoleum) with particular expertise in retail and service business, family business, low-cost marketing and "pre-marketing" (clarifying business goals). Kathleen is generally available for counseling on Thursday afternoons.
    Misty Lambrecht
     

    Misty is a Google-certified trainer and has taught a wide range of classes about the Google suite of products, website development, search engine optimization and social media. She has presented live courses at Clackamas, Clatsop and Oregon Coast Community Colleges and elsewhere throughout the state of Oregon. You'll also find some of Misty's most popular courses available 24/7 online, via the Bizcenter Online Learning site at www.bizcenter.org/bol.

    Among Misty's areas of expertise is advanced social media marketing, including advertising strategies within Facebook, focusing on use of the Power Editor tool and much more.

    Few trainers have credentials to match Misty’s, or keep up with the latest trends in the field as diligently as she does. Misty participates in ongoing training across a broad swath of technology tools. Misty Lambrecht has owned Webfoot Marketing and Design for nine years where she works with small businesses to enhance their online presence.

    Rob Campbell
     In 2011, less than two years after participating in his first “Veterans Mean Business” class, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) named Rob Campbell as its director. As a Vietnam combat veteran, Campbell has a passion to support veterans who want to continue their education to start a new business and/or help an existing business thrive and grow. Rob’s leadership, strong expertise in system design, strategic innovation and market and business development has been a great benefit to the SBDC and small and large business owners.
    Robert Sherk
     Robert is in great demand as an instructor and speaker on the subject of marketing and sales. He has mentored hundreds of small business owners during his 13-year teaching career with Oregon Small Business Development Centers. He also owns and manages a successful consulting business. Working in private industry for 25 years, Sherk held key executive positions with two Fortune 100 companies. He was also president and part owner of the seventh largest privately-held company in Oregon ($350 million in annual sales).
    Sean Harry
     

    Dr. Sean Harry recently joined the Clackamas SBDC and brings his dynamic entrepreneurial background to the team of instructors and counselors.

    A self-claimed “serial entrepreneur,” Dr. Harry has written books, conducts public seminars on marketing and business promotions and was even a church pastor. He said he has always had a passion for helping others achieve their dreams of business ownership.

    “Back in 2005, I left a corporate job and went into career coaching for those who were making a mid-life career transition,” said Dr. Harry. “When the economy hit, many people were forced to make this transition because of businesses closing and layoffs. I was working with dozens of people who had been in long-term careers and there were very few jobs offered.”

    Dr. Harry began helping people shift from the loss of one career to starting their own businesses, especially consulting companies, where they could take longevity of experience and offer their expertise to others, and make money. “I help them take a forward thinking idea and turn it into a reality,” said Dr. Harry.

    With a love of adult education, Dr. Harry has been a natural fit and trusted advisor at other SBDC offices in the Portland area. Currently he is working as a counselor for the Clackamas SBDC and will begin teaching the 9-month Small Business Management course at Clackamas Community College this fall.

    “My goal is to help others find joy and wealth in their small business,” said Dr. Harry. “This program is a way to help them to do that.”
